Capricorn South Circuits Shines as Host of the EMS Entrepreneurship Initiative

On 2 September, the Mogodumo Circuit proudly took up the mantle of host for the latest leg of the EMS Entrepreneurship Initiative, welcoming fellow circuits Nokotlou, Sepitsi, Lebowakgomo, and Mphahlele for a day filled with fresh ideas, sharp thinking, and unmistakable young talent.
The event once again proved that when learners are given the platform to lead, they rise to the occasion in remarkable ways.
A Circuit United Behind Its Learners
Hosting an event of this scale takes coordination, dedication, and a genuine belief in what learners are capable of — and it showed.
The teachers behind the scenes deserve real credit for the smooth running of the day, from preparing learners for their presentations to creating an environment where young entrepreneurs felt confident enough to showcase their ideas in front of peers from across five circuits.
Their efforts didn't just make the event possible; they set the tone for a day that was organised, welcoming, and genuinely inspiring to be part of.

Wholesome Bites: A Sweet Standout
Of all the businesses on display, Wholesome Bites, a sweet company from Dr Dixon Primary School, truly made waves.
What set this young team apart was their innovative approach to preparation — taking what could have been a simple sweets stand and elevating it into something that felt genuinely thought-through and polished.
Their presentation reflected excellent planning, a clear sense of product quality, and a real understanding of what makes a food business appealing to customers.
It was the kind of standout performance that reminds everyone why these initiatives matter — because when learners are given the right support, their creativity has no limit.

The EMS Curriculum, Brought to Life
Across every stall and presentation, the day was a powerful reminder of just how effectively the EMS curriculum can translate into real-world skill when learners are given the chance to apply it practically.
Concepts like production, pricing, marketing, and customer service weren't abstract ideas on this day — they were lived experiences, brought to life by learners who clearly put thought, care, and pride into their work.
Looking Ahead
The success of this leg of the initiative is a credit not only to the learners who presented with such energy and insight, but also to the teachers across all five circuits who guided, encouraged, and prepared them for the spotlight.
Mogodumo Circuit can be proud of hosting a day that celebrated entrepreneurship at its best, and with businesses like Wholesome Bites leading the way, the future of young enterprise in the region looks brighter than ever.
